MENSTRUAL DISORDERS:

Menstrual disorders are problems that affect a woman’s normal menstrual cycle. It includes painful cramps, abnormally heavy bleeding, prolonged menstrual periods, absence or infrequent menstruation. These disorders can affect  women’s day to day activities in family life, school and working atmosphere. There are  number of treatment modalities are available for the treatment of these menstrual disorders.

 

ENDOMETRIOSIS:

Endometriosis is a condition in which the layer of tissue that normally covers  inside of uterus growing outside of it. Most often it grows on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and tissue around the uterus and ovaries; however, in rare cases it may also occur in other parts of the body. The main symptoms are chronic pelvic pain while in 70% pain occurs during menstruation and infertility. The cause is not entirely clear. Risk factors include having a family history of the condition. Treatment options include pain relievers, hormones, and surgery.

 

THYROID DISORDER:

Thyroid is a endocrine gland  in the neck which produce hormone that controls all the activity of our body. When you have thyroid dysfunction, your thyroid gland can either become overactive (hyperthyroidism) or underactive (hypothyr0idism).

Hypothyroid can cause Problems with your menstrual period & Problems getting pregnant. Initial symptoms of hypothyroidism might include: Fatigue, Weight gain, Cold intolerance, Dry or brittle hair, Memory problems, Irritability and depression, Higher cholesterol levels, Slower heart rate, Constipation, or sluggish bowel.

Hyperthyroid symptoms could include: Weight loss, Heat intolerance, Frequent bowel movements, Tremors, Nervousness and irritability, Thyroid gland enlargement, Sleep disturbances, Fatigue.

Diagnosis can be made by physical assessment and testing thyroid profile. Treatment options are oral thyroid supplements , diet modification and surgery for needed patients.

 

PELVIC FLOOR DYSORDER:

Pelvic floor dysfunction occur when muscles of the pelvic floor are weak or tight. Pelvic floor dysfunction may include any of a group of clinical conditions that includes urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, sensory and emptying abnormalities of the lower urinary tract,  sexual dysfunction and chronic pain syndromes. Pelvic floor exercise, vaginal Ring and surgical correction are the treatment options for pelvic floor disorders.

 

URINARY COMPLAINTS:

The common urinary problems includes urinary tract infection, urinary incontinence, kidney stones, stress incontinence, over active bladder. Women of all age can affected by any one of these problems. Timely management can reduce the illness and improve the quality of life. These problems can be treated by pelvic floor exercise, medical management and surgical corrections.

 

PAPSMEAR CHECKUP:

Papsmear is a screening procedure for cervical cancer. It tested for the presence of precancerous or cancerous cells on the uterine mouth (cervix). During the routine procedure cells from your cexvix are gently scraped away and then examined for abnormal cell growth. Women can have their first papsmear check up at the age of 21 or they become sexually active. Healthy women can undergo follow up check up once in 3 years.

 

OFFICE ENDOMETRIAL BIOPSY:

Endometrial biopsy can be done as a outpatient procedure without the use of anesthesia. That serves as a helpful tool in diagnose various abnormalities of the uterus including infections and malignancy.
