Before planning your pregnancy, the first most thing is you should ensure your menstruation and ovulation patterns are regular. You should be with your partner between ten to twentieth day of menstrual cycle. It will increase the chance of fertility.
Body Weight
Obesity is now one of the commonest and most important risk factors for infertility and adverse pregnancy outcomes. Such risks can manifest even before conception and implantation. Obesity has been shown to affect the health of the human oocyte and the quality of the early embryo. A healthy weight reduces the risk of NTD, preterm delivery, gestational diabetes, hypertension, caesarean delivery, and also more likely to promote conception.
Similarly, women who are underweight may find getting pregnant difficult and be at risk of more pregnancy-related complications.
Advise women who are overweight (BMI 25-29.9) or obese (BMI ≥30) to lose weight before becoming pregnant.
