Total duration of pregnancy is 10 months, in other word 40 weeks. In normal pregnancy child birth can happened at any time after completion of 36 weeks. If baby delivered before the completion of 37 weeks , we call it as preterm delivery. Child birth can happened in two ways one is normal vaginal delivery and other method is C- section.

Criteria for normal delivery
- Baby head should be down and fixed in the pelvic bone at term
- Pain should be start on its own and progress well
- There should not be any associated complications for the mother and the baby
- It should be a singleton pregnancy
