Week-4

  • If you have missed your period, then you could take a pregnancy test. This would be the earliest that a home pregnancy test can detect pregnancy and the test came back positive–that’s right, you’re pregnant!
  • For most women, breast tenderness is the first physical sign of pregnancy — even before the onset of morning sickness. You may also experience more extreme senses of taste and smell.

BABY:

  • As the fertilized egg grows, a water-tight sac forms around it, gradually filling with fluid.
  • This is called the amniotic sac, and it helps cushion the growing embryo.
  • The placenta also develops. The placenta is a round, flat organ that transfers nutrients from the mother to the baby, and transfers wastes from the baby.
  •  A primitive face will take form with large dark circles for eyes. The mouth, lower jaw, and throat are developing.
  • Blood cells are taking shape, and circulation will begin
  • By the end of the first month, your baby is about is 0.75 – 1 cm in length
